Terms of Service

Last updated June 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Forkboard, an AI-assisted meal-planning service operated by Forkboard LLC (“Forkboard,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Forkboard.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Forkboard. By using the service you confirm that you meet these requirements.

2. The service

Forkboard helps you plan meals for the week on a web-based planning board, using your stated preferences and AI to suggest meals, build grocery lists, and coordinate a household. Features evolve over time, and we may add, change, or remove functionality.

3. Your account and household

You are responsible for activity under your account. Sign-in is passwordless: you can use a single-use magic link sent to your email, or sign in with Google or Apple — so keep your email and any linked accounts secure. If you create or join a household, you understand that meal preferences, plans, and pantry data are shared with other members of that household. Do not invite people to a household without their knowledge.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Forkboard for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service or its AI features.
  • Access another user’s account or data without authorization.
  • Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.

5. AI suggestions and food safety

Meal suggestions, recipes, nutritional information, and allergen and dietary filtering are generated with the help of AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs. Forkboard is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or allergy advice. Allergen filtering is provided on a best-effort basis and can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing every ingredient and recipe and for confirming that a meal is safe and appropriate before you cook or eat it, especially if you or anyone in your household has a food allergy or medical condition.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Forkboard offers a free plan and paid plans (Solo and Family). Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis — monthly or annually, whichever you choose — plus any applicable taxes. Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price at the start of each billing period until you cancel, and you authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

You can cancel any time from Billing in your account settings. What happens next depends on where you are in your billing cycle:

  • 14-day money-back guarantee. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, we refund that payment in full and your plan ends right away.
  • Monthly plans, after 14 days. Your plan stays active through the end of the month you have already paid for and then cancels; that final month is not refundable.
  • Annual plans, after 14 days. Your plan ends right away and we refund the unused portion of the current year, pro-rated.

Refunds are returned to your original payment method and can take several business days to appear. When a payment is refunded, your household returns to the Free plan immediately and everything you have created stays intact. If a renewal payment fails, we will automatically retry it and email you to update your payment method before the subscription lapses. Except as described here or where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the preferences, ratings, pantry data, and plans you create. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and use this content solely to operate and improve the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you publish a plan as a public share link, you understand that anyone with the link can view it without signing in, that the published copy includes your household name and that week’s meals, and that it may be cached at the network edge.

8. Our content

Forkboard, including its software, design, branding, and original content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. AI-generated meal suggestions are provided for your personal use.

9. Termination

You may stop using Forkboard and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data handling on deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

Forkboard is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that meal suggestions will meet your dietary or health needs.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Forkboard LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on meal suggestions or allergen filtering. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Denver, Colorado will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Forkboard, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction whose law guarantees you the protection of your local courts and mandatory consumer-protection rules, nothing in this section deprives you of those protections.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will revise the “last updated” date above when we make material changes. Your continued use of Forkboard after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
